Virtual Management Training Programme

Certainly, virtual people and performance management is challenging enough, even without the backdrop of a pandemic. This four-module virtual training programme aims to provide line managers and team leaders with an essential set of tools to enable them to manage the performance and wellbeing of a virtual team.

Providing the skills to effectively manage a remote team

We know that remote working due to COVID-19 has presented a whole new set of concerns and challenges to overcome. Some individuals and organisations have thrived, while others struggled. Above all, the difference all came down to one thing – the leadership approach of their people and performance managers. This is an opportunity for organisations to sink or swim and it lies in the hands of the line manager who may have little to no training. Therefore, in this course, we provide the training and skills they need to help drive business to success. Each delegate also receives a personalised 360 report, a copy of our free e-Book on Virtual People and Performance Management, and membership of the Management Superhero WhatsApp community. Cohorts are kept small to maximise interaction and collaboration.

The price is £599 £299 excl VAT per person for the full programme and a group 360 feedback session. Discounts are available for 3 or more delegates on the same programme and we are also able to run this as an in house programme on request. Further details below.

For maximum benefit, delegates should attend all four modules with one cohort but we recognise this may not always be possible. In normal circumstances (with at least 48 hours notice) it may be possible to join a future cohort at no extra charge. Please note each module session includes an interval break.

In-company or bespoke programmes

If you have a cohort of 6 or more people it is highly cost-effective to opt for an in-house programme where we can tailor the course and timings to your business requirements. A minimum of 6 people is required for an in-company course, with a maximum of 20 attendees per session. Priced at £3,000 per standard 4 module cohort with up to 20 people.

Module 2 – Clarity and Accountability

Course Content:

Pre-work: Bring some examples of SMART business objectives

  • What are SMARTER objectives
  • How should these be adapted for a virtual workplace
  • How to chunk goals or priorities up or down for relevance
  • Short term milestones and check-ins
  • Coaching consistently for accountability

Post work: Evaluate the objectives set for your team & update with short-term milestones

Module 3 – Feedback, Recognition and Coaching

Monday 20th September 2021 at 1 pm – 3 pm

Course Content:

Pre-work: Review the feedback video

  • Understand the difference between specific and general feedback
  • Practice quality feedback
  • Why and how to create a culture of recognition
  • Virtual Talent Management

Post work: Practice delivering quality feedback

Module 4 – Managing Underperformance

Monday 27th September 2021 at 1 pm – 3 pm

Course Content:

Pre-work: Conflict questionnaire

  • Understanding the virtual causes of underperformance
  • Supporting people to prioritise effectively and request clarity
  • Grasping the nettle – turning performance round
  • Managing performance improvement plans
  • Dealing with specific challenging scenarios around virtual performance

Post work: Personal development plan and 360 feedback if requested
