We are well and truly into 2026 and we have three new insightful episodes released already! It’s been a busy start to the year for The HR Uprising podcast as we aim to keep you company on those dark and chilly commutes. So far this year, we’ve been lucky enough to be joined by some amazing guests to discuss topics from mental health, to communication, to all things leadership.
If you’re yet to hear our latest conversations from January and February, here’s a quick run through:
Podcast Episode 275: Blue Monday – Suicide Prevention with Jessi BeyerSupporting employees through crisis isn’t just a moral duty but an essential part of creating a safe workplace. In this episode, Lucinda sits down with suicide prevention educator Jessi Beyer to open up an honest conversation about recognising and responding to mental health distress in professional settings. Jessi explains how colleagues, especially HR, can play a role in early intervention by understanding warning signs and using practical tools to guide sensitive discussions.
“One of the biggest risk factors for suicide is feeling like you don’t have people around you.” – Jessi Beyer
Jessi highlights how stronger awareness, better communication skills, and the confidence to check in with others can transform workplace culture and ensure no one feels alone.
Podcast Episode 276: Authentic Communication with Sally PritchettIn this episode, Lucinda and Sally talk about why so many organisations are finding it hard to communicate honestly during uncertain times. Sally explains how organisations often avoid admitting they don’t know the future and how this leads to inauthentic messages. She also shares how this lack of transparency can erode employees’ ability to trust and continue to invest in the organisation, leaving them feeling disconnect and disengaged.
“We need to bring people on the journey. They don’t just come because we gave them a job and we’re paying them at the end of the month.” – Sally Pritchett
Ultimately Sally encourages a more human approach rooted in genuine voices, real conversations and leaders who are willing to speak openly, even when they don’t have all the answers.
Podcast Episode 277: Leading with the Heart with Roxanne HobbsLeading with the heart is becoming an essential understanding in today’s modern workplaces. In this episode, Lucinda talks with Roxanne on pairing empathy and accountability at work to create inclusive, high-performing cultures. Roxanne reflects on her journey in advertising to championing women in leadership, and why balancing emotional intelligence with clear expectations is key to the future of leadership.
“The strength lies in the ‘and’. It’s about being empathetic first and holding you accountable.” – Roxanne Hobbs
This episode highlights how leaders can build healthier, more human workplaces by combining compassion with responsibility.
