Course Content:

Pre-work: Management behaviours questionnaire

  • Why engaging management is so important
  • Understanding people as individuals
  • The building blocks of engaging management

  • Wellbeing, trust and psychological safety

Post-work: Reflect & practice one of your development actions & consider what ‘colour’ you need to model to get the best out of each of your team.

Module 2 – Purpose and clarity

Course Content:

Pre-work: Bring some examples of SMART business objectives

  • The link between clarity, purpose and engagement
  • What are SMARTER objectives
  • How should these be adapted for a hybrid workplace
  • Short term milestones and check-ins
  • Empowerment and accountability

Post-work: Evaluate the objectives set for your team & update with short term milestones

Module 3 – Feedback, Learning and Growth

Course Content:

Pre-work: Review the feedback video & profile the development levels within your team

  • How learning and growth links to engagement
  • Understand the difference between specific and general feedback
  • Practice developing quality feedback
  • Why and how to create a culture of recognition
  • Coaching people to own their development

Post-work: Practice delivering quality feedback on two specific occasions, identify development plans for each of your team

Module 4 – Preventing Underperformance

Course Content:

Pre-work: Prepare a challenging scenario

  • Preventing underperformance through engaging management
  • Understanding the potential causes of underperformance
  • Adapting your style to deal with underperformers
  • Turning underperformance round
  • Dealing with specific challenging scenarios around virtual performance

Post-work: Personal development plan and 360 feedback if requested
